Is it weird to talk to girls on Facebook?

I really want a relationship... badly. And i know these girls that go to a nearby school which i have on facebook. I go to an all boys school so it is pretty hard to find a girl. Should i just initiate a conversation or is that weird?. Any other suggestions on meeting girls ?

It's not weird. I'm a girl and, although I'm not looking for a relationship at the moment, I talk to guys on Facebook all the time. My best friend is a guy! So go ahead and talk to girls. But make sure you take it slow, and don't say anything to her on chat, that you wouldn't in person.

practice on talking to girls on the street. Don't start talking to the girls you actually want to go out with because then you might be to scared.
When you feel comfortable talking to girls you can approach them in any situation.
