How do you talk to a girl on facebook?

Well I like this girl and I want to speak to her. However I worry that if I message someone I dont know on Facebook it will be awkward and she will think I am weird. I mean I know her and all and I know for a fact she used to like me, I just have a problem starting these conversations

Just say "Hi, I'm _______"
(Your name)

Just say 'Hey ____ (her name)'
Then just follow the conversation like the person is a friend and just be you, relax, I was the exact same but it will be fine. She won't think you are weird, and if she used to liek you then she definitely wont find it weird

If she goes to your school, rather talk to her in person. Be straight forward and be yourself. Talking to her in person will show that your confidence, which most girls admire in a guy. Let her know that you think she's good lookin and somehow start a conversation. After a bit of conversation, say that you'd like to hang out with her sometime and ask for her number.
