I want to start a YouTube channel?
Hi! So..I've always wanted to start a YouTube channel for DIY fashion and style advice (just clothes, not makeup), but I'm wondering if it's even worth trying since there are so many popular channels out there.

I just don't want to put so much time and effort into making videos if no one is going to notice me. I mean, I won't mind if I don't get "YouTube famous" because I just want to share what I know, but if NO ONE watches my videos...that's kind of depressing. Haha.

Anyway, do you think I should go for it, or should I just try a blog? Or should I just do something else altogether?

I think a blog + channel would be good. Just try to be as original as possible. Give people a reason to watch your videos, instead of some other person's channel. Try to get the word out of your channel. Tumblr is a good bogging site, tag the right things and you can get pretty popular.

try doing a blog and twitter if you get a lot of followers then start a youtube page but remember making a video on something takes 4 times longer then doing it because you have to edit after recording and watch before and after uploading to make sure there are no errors. being a youtube partner is a full time job

Yes! Do it! Is always worth a try, send it to your friends and spread it on blogs and everywhere. But make sure the editing/recording is all good and act confident on cam to make people more interested just like other people on youtube Smile be active and keep viewers entertained!

Woha, I am having the same problems, there are a LOT of gurus, try starting by a tag, like one of my fav. Gurus is piinksparkles, when she does tags she tags everyone watching it, do it as a video response, and make sure it is a popular tag like, what's in my purse, 13 personal questions, or some kind of tag like that, I'm about to put up videos soon on mine. Remember that gurus didn't just get thousands of subscribers overnightSmile I went all the way back on a gurus channel and she started makin them in 2010, and she has a LOT of subscribers

Ps: make sure your camera/ lighting is good!!!

If you are going to do a blog then make sure you take a few pics, to give an idea as to how it should like, include a before and after pic. For videos, it will take a bit more time to do because they require some editing. Or you could do both, link them up to each other. You won't get any views if you don't tag your channel and videos correctly.
