Is there any way to change the graphics settings on a 2009 MacBook?

I have the 2009 white Macbook.
the specs are :

2.13ghz core 2 duo
2gigs of ram
and an nvidia 9400m graphics card with 256mb memory.
osx 10.8

I was wondering if there was any way I could change the graphics card settings on the system?
