I've been trying to place text banner ads for a site and have not been able to. Most want you to use pay per click; but with that they can set up a person or an app to click it all day and you won't get any thing other the a bill.

The more reputatle PPC ad networks like Google Adwords have sophisticate algorithms for detecting click fraud, granted some gets by, particularly on the junk sites, but it's not one site owner just clicking their own ads, that gets them banned in short order.

Again realistically, the imperfections in many sites' sales pages probably would lose more sales than click fraud.

Although I don't know if you will find suitable matches there, BuySellAds.com is a banner ad broker listing the rates for a large number of sites, you can try a small banner on 1 selected site for a month, in some cases your ad will be part of a rotation, you have to trust them to give you the number of specified impressions in a month. It's possible to be a victim of fraud in banner ad deals, a good part of a site's traffic might be fake robot traffic or 3rd world people who can't even read your ad.

Another interesting form of paid advertisements are CPV/PPV ads that are windows that popup on any site on the internet you choose, this may be a useful tool for finding your audience. You can even specify individual pages you want to have your ads popup on. They will only be shown to people who have voluntarily installed a toolbar or game engine that drives the legal adware popups. The top sites in the list below have a high min investment, like $1000 for TrafficVance, but some of the lesser networks have a $50 min buy.

TrafficVance $1000 minimum deposit (referral required)
MediaTraffic $100 minimum deposit
Lead Impact $200 minimum deposit
DirectCPV $100 minimum deposit
Adoori $100 minimum deposit
Adon Network "Pop unders"
Jema Media

only pay for PPC via Facebook or Google. One, they are the most reputable PPC companies out there and two, they keep logs of ip addresses and only allow one click per address Smile
