My earphones/headphones wont work on my laptop?
I plugged in my headphones and the music only plays from my speakers. The earphones I have are the same ones that are used for the iPhone, but they work on any other device, I have a dell laptop, they were working an hour ago but I was on skype so could that of been the problem? Basically, I just cant figure out how to enable the earphones. Thanks

Hmmm, confusing, what you could try is Right-Clicking on the volume mixer and open it up, there you can see if its actually connected, if it is slide the volume meter higher if not then either you headphones are broken or the earphone hole in your laptop in probably damaged/broken

Hi Delena,
My name is Krishna and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. Based on your description, the issue is more likely related to the audio drivers. Please visit http://www.support.dell.com/ and input your Service Tag to get updated drivers specific to your computer. If that doesn't help, try running the Dell Diagnostics Audio Tests. If it fails the speaker test, then there is the possibility of a damaged sense pin in the headphone jack. You can follow the instructions from http://dell.to/g8qNbJ Regards, Dell-Kris K Social Media and Community Team |
