I think I ruined it with a guy I like? What should I do?
So I've been going to my sport's preseason practices recently, and the last two times we practiced there was a cute guy there who is my age. The second time I saw him, we ended up waiting alone together for my coach. In that time, we started to talk a little and I thought he was worth getting to know. The next day he adds me on Facebook then sends me a message asking if I'd like to play with him. I said yes, then we talked more and we used a bunch of smiley faces. Today, when I went to practice and saw him, he didn't even look at me, or say hi, so I also decided not to look or say hi. Also, today his friend, who is a girl, was there and they were together throughout the entire practice. It made me kind of sad because I let my hopes get too high. I started to play worse and worse (tennis), and I was very unenthusiastic from then on. I felt kind of embaressed afterwards, because I played terribly, I didn't even look at him, and my mood was down. I feel like I ruined my chances of getting to know him. He hasn't messages my after practice either. I'm not sure if we'll even play together anymore.. I'm just confused because we really hit it off in our messages. Should I message him, act neutral towards him, and see if he still wants to play? Or should I just forget about him and everything altogether?
Do you think the situation is that bad, or can I redeem myself?
FYI, I'm really shy, and I have a little social anxiety which can make me be really negative about social interactions and generally lowers my self esteem when in these situations.

I'm shy as well. People like you and I (with social anxiety) tend to seem a bit mean or stand offish without trying. He might just think you're uninterested and not speaking to him was a no no. He could very well have been waiting for you to contact him for confirmation that you are interested. Talk to him. Just a simple and friendly hello will answer your question. I hope the best for you doll Smile
