Can somebody tell me why people get into abusive relationships only to break up and then get back together?
I was listening to this song called Love the way you lie by Eminem ft. Rihanna and as I sit and watch this music video I realized this song describes exactly how a lot of abusive relationships go. You meet someone nice and charming be that a guy or a girl. You guys go out but you find out the person is abusive. He or she hits you or beats you and calls you worthless.

In some cases the person may even cheat on you with multiple people. But then you have had enough so you break up with the person. But after breaking up with the person within the next few weeks you get back together with the same person who abused and beat you only for the cycle to repeat itself. Before you know it all these years have gone by and you guys keep breaking up and getting back together. Why do people do that?
