to say this another way, which online ad networks pay you the most money for people just visiting your site. we're not talking about people clicking on ads, we are talking about people just visiting.

No one pays for visiting -- would you pay for an ad where someone saw your ad but had no interest in it whatsoever and ignored it? Come on,....

Google Adsense is the best for ads on a legitimate page with real content - people will click on interesting ads.

Most companies will not pay you just for people visiting your site. There is no point in it for them because they get no benefit unless someone clicks on their ad to goes to their site.

Now there are always exceptions though and in this case the only exception I can see is a major name brand like Toyota or Nike or some company like that paying just for ad space on your website. But trust me, in order for that to happen you need to have a very successful website that generates millions of visits a month. Then they will pay just to have their ad be exposed to your visitors. You can see this on MySpace, Facebook and many other popular social networking sites, or on topic specific sites like fashion or sports or electronic review sites.
But again this is rare unless you are a serious player in website traffic.

You can try apply for CPM publisher. How many impression your site per month? But some of CPM (Cost-Per-Thousand impression) networks for Publishers requires some high amount of page/site impression to get approved.

Here some list:
Clickbooth
Adbrite
Burst
Vibrant Media
TribalFusion

But I think it is more good for you to monetize your website with CPA offers.
