Isn't social media a mass illness, really?
we have forgotten how to interact with each other in a sincere way... it's all about getting more Facebook likes & Twitter followers... we are living for other people's feedback. i think this is pathetic. for this, today I will be closing my Facebook and twitter accounts, and buying a phone without blackberry messenger. If i don't call you or meet you in real life, it means i don't really need you. it's simple enough..

I don't think that being able to talk to people who live thousands of miles away means that people can't interact irl. You seem to be confusing technology with people who just seek attention. People have always lived off of others feedback, the internet just makes it more common to see it now.

Funny, I don't recall any research support that. In fact social media has helped people with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Social Anxiety Disorder communicate better. The lack of subtle social cues helps people with autism, while the anonymity of the internet helps people with anxiety disorder. Not to mention that it connects people with various disorders together, for some it might be one of the few times that they might meet someone with the same problems as they do.
