Is it true that facebook is giving out viruses?

I've been wondering because my computer has been acting up ever since I started using facebook

if you use certain apps, then they might contain viruses, so just steer clear of questionable apps

I've been using facebook for about 4 years and I haven't had any major problems.... I don't click on every quiz/application/etc that pops up wanting me to be a fan or whatever though either.... I do play a few games (farmville, zoo world, cafe world) but none of those have caused me any problems...


So I'd say that maybe there are some applications that come with the complementary virus but not facebook itself.
