Seems to me like whoever posted this was a little bit annoyed at something, or was feeling rather sarcastic.

They're talking about those nit-picky, annoying, and often useless things people expect from one another.

They are feeling the negatives...why make a new years Resolution,no ones going follow through anyways etc...
