Why doesn't the twitter app work at school?

It worked when I first got it but then it only shows the tweets loaded at my house and it updates me when I get any new followers as like a notification of I can fix it how can I? I'm using the schools wifi btw so that might be it

My school wifi blocks a lot of websites like twitter, facebook, mail.....so ya thats probably why.

Most schools block antisocial networking sites so that kids with screwed up priorities like you don't get distracted by checking your Twitter all day

Seriously though, why can't you just wait until you get home? New followers aren't exactly vital information.
