Use a proxy website.

Using a proxy site is a way to go, but I would recommend just using your cell phone if you have one or not access the restricted site as instructed by your school rules. There is a reason they blocked the site from being used there.

You probably can't.

Most schools block social websites and the proxy sites you would try to use to get around their network restrictions.

Why do you think they are blocked? I am not allowed to go on facebook either but it is not blocked... Teachers trust us to not go on those kind of websites... But I go on youtube and stuff.. and just delete the history..lol... I still think that they can see what we are doing... :C

I love public forums and so do all my colleagues who are also school IT staff.

Someone will probably recommend hidemyass.com (which won't work), somebody else will probably suggest https which also won't work, somebody might recommend something that will bypass the filtering, but I and the others can test it and notify the filtering system provider.

We know our software does the following:
1. Blocks using URLs
2. Blocks recognising the signature of many pages so we don't need the URL and checks both http and https
3. Records new website use with the login and computer details of whoever accessed it, so we can deal with any attempts at bypassing
4. Enables us to suspend internet use or logins of those who break the rules
5. Protects the bandwidth, stops the servers filling up with rubbish and protects the network from viruses so that it can be used for what it's designed for... teaching and learning.

If you were trying to bypass an employer’s filtering, you could be fired… don’t get into the habit now.

Like I said, public forums are great places for IT people :o)
