Chances are that you do have malware, just not the kind that announces its presence.

Secondly, Macs are much more secure than Windows, due to their BSD Unix nature. They are not the best "brand," however, as they are ridiculously overpriced.

For your first question: You do not get viruses because you do not go to websites that can possibly put them on your computer and, from what it sounds like, you don't download any risky files or attachments from emails. I do not run any anti-virus software or anti-spyware on my computer and i've been fine for years. You just have to be careful where you go and what you download.

For your second question: Macs do get viruses, but they are way less common because there aren't as many Macs out there compared to PCs so nobody really develops viruses for them. Macs are better than PCs if you do any audio/video/picture editing, that is where they truely excel. Other than that, in my opinion, PCs are better.

Because you haven't been to any sites or downloaded anything that has a virus. Also macs don't get viruses because they are different to design than a virus for windows. You could design one for a Mac but it would be harder. Besides if you buy a Mac you throw away lots of money.
