If a deactivate Facebook will it be permanently deleted?

See while deactivating your facebook account there is a choice for you that whether you'll be back to your accountor not.After deactivating you can reactivate it if you wish to by just signing in.I do'nt think that you could delete it forever.Anyway if you are deactivating it none will be able to use your account or check your photos and else.
