How can i convince my mom to let ne get a facebook?

Im 12 years old all my friends have one. My mom thinks that it has a lot of viruses and that is probably the only reason i cant get one. How can i tell her its fine and safe?

there are no viruses. if anything tries to install to your computer, just cancel it. im usin faceboook for over a year now. i never got viruses and i dont even have a virus guard.
dont add your private information such as contact details.u are good to go.

and dont add your mom as a friend. she will be watching you!

You can get viruses from it, but only if you click a link that makes you get one. You can only get one if you open up a link someone sent you. That person didn't really send it, but it sent itself. It will say things like:

There's a video if you from a spy cam or You look so funny in this video, etc.

And those emails are usually typed up all weird, so tell her you will be extremely careful and do not open up any weird email.

If it looks weird, do not open it up!

facebook is safe but you are too young to have it .. just my opinion...

tell her you are only adding your friends ONLY and when you are first new to facebook, let her watch you what you do on facebook so then after she can trust you and back off because she trusts you! and trust me there are no viruses. FACEBOOK RULES!
