You can't be protected 100% ever. You can be hacked again. On way to minimize the risks is to use only UNIX-based operating systems and learn computer security a little bit. With Windows you're too vulnarable even with those protections you pointed out - they are waste of money.

I havent used this program in a long time but "zone alarm" will show you every connection to and from your pc. Its basiclly a free firewall/antivirus. Every inbound / outbound connection will need to be ok'ed by you and it will show ip's of all connections. Also make sure your pc has the latest updates.

Are you saying you now have security products installed?

In an initial attempt to try and make your computer more secure, and to scan for any keyloggers, etc...

Try this:

I run XP on my computer. If you run a different version of Windows, this path may vary.

Firstly, on your desktop click Start\Control Panel\System. Now click on the Remote tab.

Make sure there is no tick in the box labelled "Allow Remote Assistance invitations to be sent from this computer".

Make sure there is no tick in the box labelled "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer".

Now click the Apply button, then click the OK button and return to your desktop.

Also, whenever a web site asks if you wish your password to be remembered, always say no.

If you run Firefox, click Tools\Options\Security. Under Passwords, make sure there is no tick in the box labelled "Remember passwords for sites". Now click the OK button.

If you use a different browser, I'm sure there will be similar changes you should make.

Once that's done...

Boot your computer to the Safe Mode menu screen. You do this by repeatedly pressing F8 as soon as you boot up. Once there, use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode with Networking. Continue to boot from there, by pressing Enter. You will now see some drivers being loaded. There will be a pause at some point. This usually lasts for no more than 30 seconds.

When you reach your desktop, download this free package.

When you click on the download button, wait for a few seconds and the download box will appear, without you having to enter your name or email address.

Save it to your desktop, unzip it...click on start.exe...then click on Emergency Kit Scanner. Wait for it to open (this may take a couple of minutes), then get updates and run a Deep Scan (the scan may take a while):

With those procedures completed, your computer should be safer than it was.

This is the set-up I use on my PC. If you decide to install these products, please uninstall your current security products before you install these, as conflicts will occur if you don't:

I have the free version of Avast Antivirus, along with the free version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and the free Comodo firewall (Comodo Internet Security). If you decide to download Comodo, use the "Customize Installer" option mentioned in the techsupportalert link below, and untick the antivirus. You only want to install the firewall. It's advisable to adjust some Comodo settings, in order to avoid conflicts with Avast, and to increase protection to an even higher level. Again, I use the settings recommended at this techsupportalert link:

Here are the download links:

You must install a firewall, id suggest comodo firewall, its the best or you could try zonealarm. Its a firewall which protects againt hackers, keyloggers, not antivirus or antispyware unless u have a full suite.
