Need help for a research topic "social media"?

I have spent the last 6 hours trying to find a good topic/inquiry question that relates to social media. I'm trying to involve politics in the topic.The course wants us to use books as key research material, which is making it difficult because social media and politics are still farely new.

I can't find anything on SOPA, or how the western culture affects foreign countries through social media. There's no books about how political campains are being networked through social media. I'm completely stumped on a different topic that involves social media, and my head is about to explode. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
