can you get viruses from opening pics on facebook uploaded from your friends but from an unkown site?
is it possible to get viruses from opening pics on facebook uploaded from your friends but from an unkown site. they dont know where they got the pic from, is it possible???
i did'nt like it, just as i said i just viewed the image that a friend posted, yes its about a celeberty but its not an unknown uploader... is is it safe? Ads |

Simply no. A picture is just a picture, nothing more, and facebook is a very trusted website.

Picture downloading/opening from Facebook will not infected your computer.
But you may infected by link request. E.g. You receive a link from the person inviting you click on a link to a webpage with an interesting video. When you visit the site, you are told that your Flash player needs an update before you can view the video. This sounds reasonable so you click the link. When you do, the page installs a virus on your computer. |

no, you cant get a virus from viewing a picture
however, there's a lot of clickjacking spam going around facebook these days claiming to show you something that some celebrity is doing, and the people responsible are using tricks to force you into "liking" it, which then spreads virally to all of your friends' walls too, so be careful what you click on what seems innocent isnt always innocent |

Of course! The only way you can get a virus off of viewing photos is if you download something.
