EASY Ipod questions - 2nd gen touch?
My old classic dies so I have bought a 2nd gen touch off of Ebay. Its not here yet so I don't have it in front of me to "play" with.
When I plug it into my computer ( Itunes running) it will start synching my music w/o any other input from me ? Will it recognize it as a different device and ask me to do something ?
I do want it to load my current music by the way ........
I often go to the beach here in Ft Lauderdale. I would imagine with all the hotels that I will have WiFi. I understand that I am NOT "on" the network but it is within range.
Can I access Youtube and stream videos in this situation ? Facebook and Yahoo email as well ?
Just not sure how "apps" and all that actually works. I do understand the "apps" have to be installed and I can see from the pictures that these Icons are on the screen already.
At my house I am on my own wifi , Is that the ONLY time I can stream Youtube and actually send and recieve emails off of Yahoo ?
Yeah, I kinda thought "piggybacking" off a WiFi network that I am NOT actually registered on was too good to be true and did not make sense how I could have that capability.

No it wont automaticly start syncing music but to do that there will be a sync option to put all your music in there. And also as long as the hotel has wifi with no passcode on it your ipod will be able to use it. And yes you could use youtube and facebook and yahoo email. at your house wont be the only time you can use it. youtube already comes with an ipod an cant be deleted but you will have to download facebook and yahoo mail from the appstore (or use the web browser). btw if the previous owner hasent already done so i highly recommend restoring it before using it and then syncing it to put your itunes library music on there

1. It'll likely ask some things but not much.
2. No. You have to be connected to wifi in order to use it. Applies for any app that requires it.
3. Answered in 2. Don't confuse it with that you can only use wifi from your house's connection. Any wifi network which is either free to access or you have the credentials to access will work the same.
