Do I need to download spotify to use it on facebook?
I've gotten as far as having a spotify icon on my facebook (down the left, in my apps list) and when I click it it just loads but doesn't actually load anything. I recieved an email from spotify talking about downloading it and then sharing music with friends, but I don't really want to download it if it can be helped.... HELP ME?!

yes, you do need to download it because when you play music from Facebook, it doesn't play on Facebook, it just opens Spotify and plays it on there and then shares it with your friends.
