Is history repeating itself in terms of Racism in America, or was the progress an illusion.. confused?

I was thinking... you know that guy... the one who had a dream... yeh... the Martin Luther King guy. Well, in his time he was called a 'socialist' and 'communist'... and it is probably what ultimately got him killed... some nut thinking he's going to 'destroy america.' Today it seems that that very same seed of hate that was calling that man a 'socialist' and 'communist' are now calling the new black guy the same... to top it all off 'HE'S A MUSLIM!!!!!!!!!!!!" What the hell? Even if he were... so? That again is RACISM. By trying to demonize the president by calling him a "Muslim" is sheer stupidity because there are radicals in every religion... even in Christianity there are hate groups that use the bible to try to back their agendas... just like islamic extremist use the Quran. On facebook seeing all the propaganda 'we will not be disarmed' when no one ever mentioned disarming the American people. A ban on military style assault weapons and magazines with capacities of more than 10 rounds and 23 executive actions for tighter gun restrictions.... nothing less.. nothing more. That's not disarming. All the people saying 'come take the guns and see what happens.' Am I living in the 60's or 2013??? Will America ever COMPLETELY mature? Surely progress has been made... but damn. Thought's, comments?
