dell D600 wireless drivers not working?
My friend has a dell latitude D600, it was missing all of the drivers. I went to Dell's website and downloaded all of the drivers and installed them. everything but the wireless now works. I need to know if this is a Dell issue or if there is another place to get the drivers. its not any other from of the 600, it is a "D600". All help would be nice.

Hello robby,

I am from Dell Social Media and Community.

D600 can have any one of the following wireless card.

True Mobile 1300, 1400 MiniPCI NIC or Intel Pro MiniPCI NIC

You need to verify which wireless card is installed in your system and install the appropriate driver.

If this has not helped you or if you need any further assistance, feel free to message me on Twitter(@NiranjanatDell). I will be happy to assist.

Go back to Dell, type in the Service Tag off the bottom of the laptop (or click F2 as it boots up and write down the Service Tag that's in the computer's memory - but don't change it).

Type that in and the page will sort out the drivers needed for the hardware that the comuter shipped with by operating system (usually about a third of the total available). Write down the IDs of the various drivers by category (chipset, audio, video, etc.) on the instruction print out for the recommended installation order. Dell has tested those drivers to make sure that the computer works well with them - so they might not be the latest available (hardware installed in newer computers with a different operating system might need a more recent driver - which is why it sorts them by operating system).

Install ONLY those drivers in the order indicated for best performance - installing extra drivers for hardware that isn't present doesn't help and ties up space.

Or buy a D600 driver disk off eBay for less than $10 - it'll "read" the hardware & install them for you.

Advanced System Care (free version) by Iobit.com has a Driver Update Manager under Tools - it'll tell you if there are any more recent drivers that have come out for the same hardware. The newer driver may or may not improve performance - it might depend on the operating system.
