When is information dangerous?
I read a news article today about a man who had been arrested the police said he had been arrested because he had posted dangerous information on social media sites. they said he hadn't intended to use the information but the information was dangerous.
morally is information dangerous?
it was my understanding that information was the truth and the turth will set you free. the truth was only dangerous to liars.
people might say instructions on making a bomb is dangerous information but is not it only dangerous if some one does something with it , the information itself cant cause harm can it?

Ignorance will get you eaten by the bear. It depends on the information.

Without knowing what the information was, it's impossible to do justice to your question, because you're talking about a specific situation.

Information in the wrong hands can be dangerous.

Information about state security can compromise the safety of individuals.

A little information is dangerous because it can lead people to wrong conclusions.

Yes, Jesus said that the truth would set men free, but he was talking about the truth about himself as the Son of God, who had come to save sinners such as you and me. The truth about God and his eternal plan of redemption absolutely sets men free. But I don't think that's what this is about?

It depends on who is reading the information and why they want to read it.

And by your reasoning it is not dangerous to give someone your PIN number, because the information is not dangerous unles someone does something with it.

Just give us your bank card and PIN number (remember , the truth will set you free) and we will se if that info causes you any harm

A loaded gun is not dangerous until the trigger is pulled, the same thing with information it becomes malicious when it's used that way.

Some people have to talk about anything new no matter what it is. l held a military secret for well over 30 plus years. Then one day l went to see if that operation was on Welkpedia, spelling, and their it was but it lacked the details that l remember. What l tell people: A secret is a secret but if you must share it with somebody go to a cemetery and share it with the dead people buried their..

Information itself is neither good or bad. But how it is used could prove to be good or bad, depending on its outcome and how it effects mankind or the environment.
