Why is the media continuously reporting decreases in unemployment numbers?
It is not as though jobs are being created and these people are no longer on unemployment, these are NEW cases of unemployed individuals. It is a very deceptive practice, akin to saying that social security has 26 billion in a fund.

The government has always counted unemployment as only those who are collecting unemployment insurance.

These benefits run out after 18 months. If you still haven't found a job by then, you may not be working, but the government stops counting you as unemployed.

The current mess with the layoffs and all that happened...18 months ago. Guess what? Those people are no longer being counted even if they still haven't found work.

The media shouldn't be reporting that, it's good news, the media don't do good news. I wish they were reporting that in the UK.

Once you are out of benefits, you are no longer counted as unemployed. So this is why the numbers are going down and still no one has work.

America and its wealth revolves around investment, not employees and employees producing goods. China and the 3rd world does all that for us, while we juggle bank accounts all day.

having the image that we're "back to work" and the perception that things are getting better for America, is better for it's investments.
the financial elite of the US have known for a long time we don't actually have to make or sell anything or employ anyone, or pay anyone back, we can just use our American brand of superiority to sell investment schemes, and burst investment bubble after investment bubble like we've been doing since the 70's...

You can count on the fact that the new jobs are being taken for far less pay and way below the skills these desperate people have.

maybe it is a cover up. maybe they are using problems like that to cover up an even bigger one ? to distract us from something that is happening and to make it seem like obama is actually doing something?
