the reason it is the top social networking site is because it has more users than any other. i don't know what appeals to the users though.

I'm really sorry, as this isn't strictly speaking an article, but a combination of my, and my friends opinions.

- It has a variety of ways to communicate, including online chatting, inbox messaging, wall post and status updates.
- It is possible to give comments easily.
- The privacy settings are easy to use and alter.

I think the real reason is because it was always seen as the "mature" myspace. Myspace was created first and when facebook was created shortly after, it was only for college students. Old myspace users would start saying "oh yeah, I'm older now, I don't use myspace anymore, it's for kids." So I think that's the real reason.

you can do more on facebook then on myspace.
why? because...
1.) you can play apps but most of them are well built then myspace.
2.) people use facebook to see their old friends.
3.) there are more privicy settings
4.) no stalkers.
5.) chat, messaging, write on their wall and commenting is a way to commuicate to people who you would like to talk to.
6.) facebook is more organized.
