When I look at my newsfeed, all I see is people posting pics of themselves either having a great time at the movies, or posing in front of the camera with everyone calling them pretty. It's starting to make me feel lonely..

Since you asked my OPINION I'm not going to research this on the net.

Do I think that Facebook can make us sad or more depressed? YES!!!

Here's the reason why. If you're not getting any face to face time with people and spend all your time on the computer it will make you sad and depressed.

Been there done that and don't want to do it again. I love my computer but I must remember that I live in this world, not online. Everyone needs a little human interaction.

Some great ways to get f2f time is to volunteer in your community. Let your community appreciate you for the great person you are and volunteer for one hour a week.

Suggestions of places to volunteer:

1. Humane Society. (man those dogs love to be walked)

2. Your local library. (they are so under funded)

3. Numerous others. Some in my community is the local aquarium, Fulton Mansion in Rockport,TX, The Rockport Computer User's Group has an open lab for people and always needs monitors to help keep it open.

I'm sure if you looked you would be able to find some way you could contribute to your community and make them glad you live there. As well as making yourself happy. Smile)

Hope this helps,

dandielionous

If you're feeling sad or bored, then you might want to play those Facebook apps. They're social games for Facebook users who want something to occupy themselves and pass time. You can also invite friends to join you. I play them whenever I don't want to speak to anyone.

I think its true, I had to take a few days away from it, and it helped. Why I try not to visit to many friends profiles too much or if I do and feel like it again I take the day off from the site.
