How do you set a background photo on facebook?

I whent to several apps, but all they do is let you choose a photo. I don't know where to go to set the photo.
Can someone also tell me how to change the layout my profile (example, putting a little information directly under your profile picture? I hope I was clear enough.

that is not possible, the apps that let you do it will just spam your friends, because they have to use the same app in order to see it too

Be wary of those apps, they spam! And it's annoying. No one is able to do it. If that were possible, business Facebook pages would be the first to use this feature!
