eat no less than 1000 calories a day - your body NEEDS 1000 calories, just to keep your organs working properly - you would lose weight on this amount, even if you stayed in bed all day - because that really is the minimum, in order to be healthy.. Yes, you can go lower, but it doesn't work for weight loss - your body thinks you are starving, so it hangs onto every calorie you give it, it needs the calories, so your body actually will start to eat muscle - and you don't want that - muscles are what give us the sexy muscle tone in legs and arms.. and then because your body thinks it is starving, you will have wicked cravings, you body will not let you forget that you are starving.. and usually what happens is that eventually, you will binge and eat everything in sight.. so, low calorie intake does not lead to permanent weight loss..
http://www.sparkpeople.com is a great diet website totally FREE! they tell you how many calories to safely take for weightloss.. there are recipes and meal planning advice, they have encouraging articles, and it is like facebook - you can chat with others, join groups if you want to.. chart your progress, log your foods and exercise.. that website helped me to lose 20 lbs! You will get all your answers there, and lots of support, and it is FREE.
