Go onto the itunes store and when you plug the ipod in you can have the option of updating it to a later version (beware it might cost sometimes)..

The new software it is recommending i think costs.
Once you update that is should be fine.

It might just be a bit easier to use Safari which should already be on your iPod Touch to access your Facebook page.

You have to go on the computer and download the update onto your ipod, I had to do the same thing.

When you plug the iPod touch into a computer, it will prompt you to update to 3.1.2 (the current version). It costs $5 to do that. You can't do it over the air.

This is how you update it for free.

Get your firmware from here
http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
and follow these steps
http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/06/28...-for-free/
except instead of 3.0 install 3.1.2 anything that worked on 3.0 will work on 3.1.2, and 3.1.2 is better.

Then facebook and all other apps should be able to install.
