How long does facebook spamming usually last?

I just recently became a spammer on facebook because I opened something that was a virus and now my profile keeps sending stupid messages to all my friends.. how long does that usually last? Its getting really annoying and i dont want people to think im doing it on purpose...

Well if you change your Password to facebook it will stop .
