iMac Garage band external mic not working (AT2020 Mic) *10POINTS*?
My garageband has been working fine for the past 3 years, until last week. I Always record with the 'Monitor: On' Setting. (Meaning I can hear my voice as I record). That being said, since last week, I notice when I was going to record, that my external mic (AT2020) was producing bad quality. My voice had an airy, echo like, static, distorted sound. It basically made the quailty of my voice TERRIBLE! While I recorded & listened, my voice sounded very off!

Now here’s the thing I know It’s NOT My mic, I brought a brand new AT2020 usb mic & even went out and brought brand new usb’s for the mic! The problem Is garage band It’s self, or the Audio preferences on the iMac it’s self. Is there a way to fix this problem?

I’ve done everything, I edited, and tried fixing the “Input/Output” settings in “Sound” preference’s on the imac. maybe I didn’t do it right but I’m 100% I’ve tried all possiblities to fix the sound. I shut down and re turned on my iMac. I’ve done everything I could.

***I DID Notice that the problems started when my brother downloaded the app “Skype” to talk to his girlfriend. I Deleted Skype COMPLETELY OFF my imac, but still have this problem with my mic.

PLEASE HELP. I’ll give 10 points!
