QUESTION ABOUT TWITTER .?
I'm not sure if this is like a twitter trend or whatever, but lately a lot of people I know (not everyone, mostly seniors and juniors) have been changing their twitter profile pic to having a big red X over it. it's still the same profile picture, it just looks like there is a big semi-transparent red X painted on it. What does it mean? Thanks.

The reason behing the red x's are because you have to clear your temporary internet files on your computer. To do so go into the internet settings in IE and click DELETE TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES... after doing so the websites that you visit will no longer have the red x's .... If they still show up this is because of a problem with the web pages HTML coding. Red x's indicate that the file that the images for that site has been moved. If there are no images for the page o link to then the images cannot show therefore the comuter has to show something so it shows you a red x. Also another thing that my be happening is that you have your content set to block these sorts of picures... if you set your computer to block xxx pictures for example then if you went to a xxx site then all the pictures wouldnt show. they would appear as red x's or as gray squares

What the first answer offers is a technical, web error that doesn't involve the original picture still being displayed.

What I think you're referring to is the End It moment against modern day slavery. People are asked to create a profile picture on their social networks that incorporates a red transparent x to bring awarness to the issue. You can read more here: http://www.enditmovement.com/
