How did Mickey mouse contribute to the 20's social revolution?
I'm doing a report on a person from the 1920s who contributed to social revolution. I chose Mickey mouse, but I can't think of many examples. Help?

Whao! That's really a loaded question. Maybe try reverse engineering it and ask how did the 'social revolution' contribute to the idea of 'Mickey mouse'.
Created in 1928 would suggest that 'he' had very little time to really make much of an effect on what you would call the 20's. Consider also the financial crash that followed the next year. The adults at least had much more to worry about than a cartoon. Interesting question! Ads |

I did a search on 'Steamboat Willie' just to see when it came out. It was the third Mickey Mouse picture to be released (1928). It was also one of the first films with sound. I think you could argue Mickey's case as being a part of the film culture which would help spread 'new' and/or ethnic music forms through the media coming to and through the cinema theatres of the time. I believe Mickey was originally named 'Mortimer Mouse' - you may want to research him under that pseudonym. Notice that Mickey's tail disappeared over time.
