Don't get me wrong, i like em both. but AVG is neater i think, and it's got good detection rates. sure avast has more features like site blocking etc. But AVG is a very good av in my opinion. and they have very helpful staff, like even on their facebook page the fb users can interact with avg staff on updates and stuff. and they give tips etc.
I know avast has a similar fb page, but AVG seem friendlier on there

As an Elite member of the Malwarebytes' Forum I see way more users using AVG getting their pc's infected than when using Avast. Not that avast! users don't either. I would rather go with the lesser of 2 evils.

Although it looks nice, the AVG free engine is the worst around. I had a laptop with AVG, for months i scanned and everything came back clean. Great i thought. One day i decided to try Avira, i had 3 Trojans, numerous tracking cookies and a few other unwanted bonuses. Needless to say AVG went in the bin pronto Smile

Get rid of AVG, its not doing you any favours.

AVG does have a nice scanner image and is alot neater.....The Avast Interface on the otherhand is a little more complicated and does take a little time to get use to.....but if your happy with AVG stick with it...I use Avast because I can take a download and put it in sandbox and open it to scan for infections using cloud technology and then if it's ok allow it to download on computer....plus Avast offers 15 more features that AVG does not.............AVG is great for someone with limited computer knowledge and wants basic protection....Avast is for the person who wants maximum protection while tweeking the settings and adjusting everything to their personal preferences.........
