Is a iphone 3g worth the money?

Yes Iphone 3g is worth it. Quite a revolutionary phone, and with jail breaking it, all the much better. Best phone around + its great apps for free! C'mon that's a good deal! Yes you can get into trouble if you jailbreak it but thats if somehow the police come to you and ask to look at your iphone ? Than maybe charge you $50 fine? Lol mate its safe as hell to jailbreak everyone at my school has and my friend has done it to 50 phones and not a soul of the law gives the slightest shi*t. I got an iphone 3g and they are a great phone, and with the iphone 4 coming out the prices on 3g and 2g will drop significantly leaving you with a great deal.
