How to start the conversation with some old friends?

Well for a long time now, I been kind of on my own. Like by myself in school. Sitting alone at the lunch table, walking the halls by myself. I had some really great friends, but since High School started two years ago, we drifted apart from each other because of one girl. Well now that girl is out of our life, and my old friends are on my facebook, but it's been a year since we talked. How can I start the conversation and not be to awkward? I really have missed them! I got connected with one friend of mine, and we have a plan to get are lunch together tomorrow. So how can I get back in tune with my old friends? Honest answers!
