Is windows 8 really this terrible?

Is Windows8 really this terrible or is it because I have an HP laptop. I bought a brand new HP laptop from best buy about 4 weeks-5weeks at most it was the week before Christmas I got it. And so far I have not been happy with my pc's performance. its the Envy M6 with 6GB of memory. I have not done anything to my pc I only go on youtube and facebook. and maybe play world of warcraft, maplestory or starwars old republic!

But sometimes I cannot watch youtube videos because it will load the video up as a green screen when played. and I have to mess around with it tons and tons of times before it will play it normally. and when im listening to music I could play linkin park and then search for greenday and play green day and it will play linkin park in the backround even though greenday is the only youtube video im playing. and at times it my pc will refuses to lt me use my virus software because I had Norton so I undownloaded that and im using AVG and that works. But I mean yesterday I went on google and I started to type and it started typng in the middle of the screen where it not even a place to type. Like I mean literally in the most randomest place to type and the letters were invisible. and even if I tried to press enter to search what I wanted it wouldn't do anything. And at one time this week it decided it wanted to run super duper slow and I almost couldn't use my mouse so I had to manually shut my laptop off the old fashion way from holding the power button down. I tried to go to the task manager screen and log out but it load the screen up blue and didn't load nomore I mean I have never seen a computer do this before. And my computer never restarts if you try to restart it. It will logout and say computer restarting but the screen will never change. I have left it sitting for 2 hours before and it still didn't restart. so the only way to restart is to shut it down and turn it back on. I mean this is not something that happens once in a while its seems to almost be a daily hassel. I think I might take my pc back to bestbuy and tell them im not happy with my product they sold to me!

Is it just HP laptops in general or is windows8 really this terrible?

its windows 8. i bought a windows 7 laptop for christmas after returning a windows 8 laptop. windows 8 is terrible.

Yes it is. Just check out the hundreds of people on here asking how to get rid of it and load 7 in stead. And HP laptops are probably one of the most reliable there are.

Personally, I have no problem with Windows 8 because I simply know how to tinker with it, but my opinion is that Windows 7 is somewhat better. Windows 8 has proven to be better in some areas but Windows 7 won by a tiny margin.

I'd take it back, just like you suggest. When you get a new PC you should expect it to work. Demand they fix it or replace it.
