Why can't I follow or unfollow people on Twitter anymore?

Twitter is not allowing me to follow or unfollow people. I have 104 followers and I am follow 109. I can attain followers but I cannot follow or unfollow anyone. I click the follow/unfollow button and it seems to go through but then i refresh the page and the person I followed/unfollowed is not followed/unfollowed. This has been going on for at least two days and it is getting annoying. Please help.

I have the same problem. No idea what's happening. To be on the safe-side I changed my password, I suggest you do the same. Not that it fixed anything. I wrote to complain to twitter but I don't really expect a response for a couple of days.

I also have the exact same problem, following 270 followed by 256 , emailed the support centre but no reply

This has been happening since Saturday, to thousands of users. There is a huge thread on the twitter developer blog. Twitter support has yet to even acknowledge there is a problem, let alone begin working on a fix. Such poor support, it's amazing they're able to stay in business.

I am having the exact same problem. after i reporting it to twitter they claimed that it may be because I've hit my following limit even though i am only following 145 people. IDIOTS
