Also, If all I want to be able to do is check facebook, use apps, and listen to music, which would be best for me?

Well the first of all, the only big difference is just bugs, battery life, etc, exept for the 4th generation which is alot thinner and has a camera. And giving what features you want, any iPod touch would work, it just comes down to the cost.

Hope it helps,,,,,, in matter in fact I'm typing this on my iPod touch 4th generation right now!
