Is a social life not possible without Facebook?
I am currently studying at a University, and I am noticing this trend where I feel that socializing has been greatly affected by social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter etc.

I understand the benefits of having such a tool, but I feel as if it is affecting our society in a negative way because people are getting way to dependent on it.

1.) For shy guys, it helps them immensely to get in contact with girls they are interested in.
2.) It really eliminates a lot of physical time, and people just simply waste too much time and energy on it!

I'm not against social networking, I am just wondering if it's affecting our daily lives.
I would NEVER NEVER ask a girl out over Facebook by the way, I'm just saying it is easier for most people to overcome their anxiety because you can develop an "internet" persona.

I'm all about face to face time ladies if you're interested Wink hahah just kidding..

Well, you could just have a point about it affecting our society in a negative way. I say this because it's not just a network, it has games and other things of interest on it. It is negative because it tears people away from their families just to see what other people are doing. Instead of people spending quality time with their families, they are talking about doing it on facebook. It is very easy to get addicted to it like it's a drug.

I still think you can have a social life outside of Facebook and Twitter and all those other networks. I meet with friends because I texted them on my phone instead of Facebook. Facebook and Twitter are just where others can post comments/questions/concerns and keep in touch with everyone around them. And like you said guys can contact girls they would like to get to know. But just to answer your question, I think it has its pros and cons.

The internet is a great immortal gift for the whole world and social networking was really amazing at first when you need to find lost friends but today people especially kids are really beginning to be too depended and silly on it!

you tought drinking and driving was bad but how about texting(looking straight down at your feet) and crossing the road without checking if the red light is still on!

Don't get me wrong I am only 25 year old college student not some old man who still doesn't know how to visit a website or just find the browser shortcut on the desktop!

but todays social networking is ruining people in their mentality and their personal resume, when they look for a carear even if you graduate with masters if they see you drinking and partying like an alcoholic you are ruined even before the interview, you'll be lucky if you get one!

people seriously need to take a chill pill
