How can I advertise my social network?

I have a social network aimed at gamers/geeks and I need a way to advertise/promote it.

Any tips?

First of all you could of put a link to it on in this question!

Secondly go to message boards all around the gaming community and have your tag the link to your website and start getting involved in the community.

First go to messageboards and let them know about it. Try to get them to check it out and give their opinion. (this way they actually really go in and check out the figures) Second I would to gaming events and let see what other social networks due their and go from their. Lastly host a online event. Pass out flyers at comic book stores, video rental stories and other places gamers like to go. Make it free, but registration should be on your website. Hope this helps.
