A friend of mine said that all the photos she uploaded to her Facebook profile were gone after she deleted that folder from her computer. Can that happen? It doesn't seem like it could, but she swears it happened. Any way for her to get them back?

Of course not.

If you want to get deleted pictures back look into Recuva.

Recuva (pronounced "recover"), is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses!

No. Uploaded files don't disappear. They are on the Facebook database for as long as you keep them there (technically longer, but I'm talking generally here). The only way that were to happen would be if she somehow had the uploaded files linked to the files on her computer. I don't think that's even possible with facebook. This was probably a coincidence and facebook screwed up, or maybe your friend made some sort of mistake.

nope, that definitely doesn't happen. once they're on facebook they stay there. she should probably look again to make sure they're not still up in there. haha.
