Do you think my best friend still loves me? Help!?

I had 2 really close guy friends Jake and Ryan and we became likes the 3 musketeers a long time ago. They were already friends before i came in the picture. I was ALWAYS with them and have so many good memories with them both. (Won't go into detail, i'm trying not to bore yall so much) They loved me and i loved them. Jake told me he loved me more than just a best friend but i dated Ryan instead......and have been for over a year. We have promise rings. I love him very much but i do love Jake also. I broke Jake's heart like a b***h i know. I didn't mean to but i wanted to be with Ryan more. We weren't exactly the same but we were still on pretty good terms. Jake still acted the same towards me and everyone still thought he had feelings for me. He would occasionally mess around with girls but always came back to me and treated me different. It's been over a year since and now he has a girlfriend.........it was kinda at random. He acts like he doesn't care about her to other people honestly. My other friends see it too. The only time he acts like he does is on twitter and stuff because she's on there and sees it.. He tells people they aren't dating but the girl does say they are. At the dance recently he said i looked really great and seemed like he spent more time with me than her. I saw him watching my boyfriend and i dance and kiss out the corner of my eye. I thought i would have to be single because of something with Ryan but we figured something out. I was on the phone with Jake the whole day literally crying my eyes out about it at the time (Jake's always there for me) He thought i was single so he told me he loved me and i was like yeah not the same anymore though and he said that's what you think. He said he still kinda did feel the same way. Then after Ryan and i worked it out he is right back to his girlfriend and i feel sort of ditched. So why is he even dating her? I'm starting to feel how he did when i dated Ryan..should i? Does he still love me? Or what? Help! Thanks yall.

It sounds like your life is in turmoil right now. No offense meant. Being in a (sorry for being a little blunt) sort of love triangle like you are is a very confusing ordeal. You don't want to hurt anyone but in the end you end up hurting everyone. It sounds like your friend Jake does still have feelings for you although his pride won't allow him to confess. He's hurting and is confused so he's doing the only thing he can for himself, take his mind off of you by attempting to date someone else. My advice would be to talk to him and get a straight answer no matter how hard it will be. If you don't tie up all the loose ends then nothing will change and you'll never get your best friend back. At least right now you have a chance. Just remember though, he is not your responsibility. It's okay to be worried for him and try to help out but you don't have to go around and try to clean up all of his messes. Best of luck. I hope everything goes well.
