I run the US operation of search and digital media agency that serves the digital interests of small to medium sizes business'. I sent out several tweets per day with content targeted towards owners and marketers of small business. I find that the vast majority of people who choose to follow me and people who already work in by industry or are trying to sell me something. What is the best way to find and be followed by my desired target audience?

Your first strategy using social media and to gain a target following on Twitter is to gain focused attention and develop strategies for capturing your target followers. Focused attention results in highest sales. Make sure you are targeting the correct followers and they are focused on nothing but your message.
