What the fuck is wrong with my laptop? screen wont turn on, just black blank.?

Im using dell, and the last time i used it, it was normal. I offed it normally but i didnt plug in my battery, i just use the charger plug.someone told me to put the battery back in nd unplug the charger it would work fine. My battery only last for 10 min thats why i dont use it. So when i got home, i plug in the battery it still didnt work. The power button light comes on, when i plug in the charger the light is there, but not the screen.Idk whats wrong or what i am doing wrong. I cnt afford to go to the shop, please, i lost a gold bracelet my mom bought for 1000. Please i just cant tell both of this news at once.

the battery might be defective. if everything works with the battery out, that'd mean that the battery is defective.
