My Facebook got Hacked?

I logged into my facebook page. I then recieved a message that said "verify if this is you"
I can't quote it word by word, but it basically said someone in Florida had attempted a log in, it said they did not recognize the log in, so they needed to confirm it was me.
My question is "does this sound like the person had my email address and password? If so how can I protect my account from this hacker?"
It might be a typo or a facebook error, but I might add that it has happened before...And that is why I am concerned.

There is not much to be worried. It could just very well be an error in the system.

Most likely it was a typo on someone (who lives in Florida) else's part. I wouldn't give it another thought.
