what do conservatives think of these social and political ideologies?
Agree or disagree?

* A mixed economy consisting of both private enterprise and publicly owned or subsidized programs of education, universal health care, child care and related social services for all citizens.
* An extensive system of social security (although usually not to the extent advocated by socialists), with the stated goal of counteracting the effects of poverty and insuring the citizens against loss of income following illness, unemployment or retirement.
* Government bodies that regulate private enterprise in the interests of workers and consumers by ensuring labor rights (i.e. supporting worker access to trade unions), consumer protections, and fair market competition.
* Environmentalism and environmental protection laws; for example, funding for alternative energy resources and laws designed to combat global warming.
* A value-added/progressive taxation system to fund government expenditures.
* A secular and a socially progressive policy.
* Immigration and multiculturalism.
* Youth rights and lowering the voting age.
* Fair trade over free trade.
* A foreign policy supporting the promotion of democracy, the protection of human rights and where possible, effective multilateralism.
* Advocacy of social justice, human rights, social rights, civil rights and civil liberties.

The regulations placed on the market by social democracy tend to limit economic efficiency and growth, and impede the creation of wealth that may be needed to alleviate global poverty.

Social democratic programs sometimes entail large government outlays, which can result in sizable budget deficits.

State provision of education, health care, childcare and other services is inefficient, limits individual choice, and requires users to pay more if they opt to use privately-run services.

Socialism is never a good thing. That is like saying that a little cancer is not going to hurt anything.Except socialisnm is never satisfied. It will be an insatiable obsession that will eventually gobble up all freedoms. We are on the precipice of that now. When social security was inplemented it was for retirement, government forcing the folks to save. Well, all that did was put a huge savings account in front of a drunken sailor that wanted more booze. In 1965 Johnson unlocked this saving account to fund his great society. And now all that is left is $30,000,000,000,000.00 in I.O.U.'s.That is like a wife that spends her husband into the poorhouse just so she can look good. That is all liberals want to do, just look good. " We care about people", and never dip into their own pockets to help anyone. We have e;lected the enemy.

They are extreme left wing liberal views. Socialism is a bad idea. It never works. The role of government in the US should be limited, as it is in the US Constitution.
1. Government does not create wealth. It should not be involved in the private sector.
2. I am on Social Security and on Medicare. I think both are bad ideas.
3. Government makes a mess of everything it gets involved in. Regulations to insure equality in private enterprise should be our goal.
4. Environmental protection laws are good if they work. Alternative energy should be a private enterprise. There is no global warming.
5. The US government spends more than it takes in, no matter the tax structure. We should have a 35%/50% amendment to the US Constitution that states the maximums all governments can take from citizens in total. 35% for low income, graduating to 50% for high income. And a law that states the government cannot spend more than it takes in.
6. Socialism is bad.
7. Immigration should be controlled, especially illegal immigration.
8. The voting age is already too low. Children have rights.
9. Free trade is the only thing that works.
10. Foreign policy should be aimed at protection the US from foreigners.
11. The US Constitution guarantees rights. It needs to be followed by the government.

Read "Atlas Shrugged" it will tell you exactly what we think of them. The problem with most of them is they are subject to interpretation and abuse and ignore economic reality. Lowering the voting age would only add more unqualified voters who would vote only based on popularity rather than issues.
