I have become responsible for my own phone bill for a while, and want to reactivate my old phone and deactivate my Android, but i have a lot of apps on the android and i'd still like to use it for its portable internet capabilities.

Would it still connect to wifi? Would apps that use data still work if I used wifi instead? Could I still use apps such as Google Play? Would I still get notifications from my yahoo email and facebook and such? Could I even use a texting app to keep my android as somewhat a communication device?

My android still worked with WiFi when I disconnected my phone. I could do just about everything that I could when my phone was on except make calls.

Yes on most. U won't get notifications though, unless ur connected to a wifi spot. U can send free texts on the internet via certain websites but unlikely u will receive any.
